objects, while impressed with the necessity for affording facilities for the development of the area for mercantile pursuits, cannot consent to the adoption of any other site than that originally proposed for Barracks. We find it thus incumbent to record our individual opinions as to the respective requirements of each Service and submit the decision for Government.
Her Majesty's Naval requirements on the Promontory of Nowloon: 1st Site for a boat store at the point marked D with a sea frontage of six hundred feet and to extend back two hundred and eighty feet.
2nd Site for an Hospital for two hundred and fifty patients, the frontage to extend from the North end of the high ground behind the point selected for a Coal store, one hundred and eighty yards, South and North down the slope as far as may be found requisite, the front to be open to the sea and the rear to be open as far back as the road proposed by the Surveyor General intended to run in the direction North and South past the point H. This ground to be at all times available either for the recreation of the Patients or for the exercise of the ships' crews.
The remaining portion of the Bay to the North of the Point not to be appropriated until it is ascertained as to whether it will be required for a Dock or other Naval purposes.
